Lucy Liu was born in America. Liu is an American singer, actress and voice-over artist. An attractive, clever and gifted actor, she's an example to Asian actors who are aspiring to be big stars in Hollywood. An array of highly successful initial appearances in popular television series made her famous for joining the cast in Ally McBeal, where she played Ling Woo. After a sudden surge in fame, the actress got roles on the big screen such as Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. Her performance was outstanding in the role of Japanese gangster O-Ren Ishii (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. Around the same time she was also in the lead role in a few films that failed at the box office, such as Rise: Blood Hunter. Then, she was voice actor for animated films including Kung Fu Panda.
