Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, was raised in Wellington) is an Canadian actress from Canada. Paquin, born in Winnipeg and was raised by Wellington Paquin's mother, made her acting debut as Flora McGrath. For this role, she won an Academy Award of Best Supporting Actress in the romantic drama The Piano at the young age of eleven. She was the second youngest recipient in Oscar the history of Oscars. When she responded to a request for auditions, she was able to audition at the age of nine and having no acting experience before that the actress was chosen for Flora McGrath's role. Flora is the child of the Scottish musician who was blind. The couple moved to New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century to plan a wedding. When she was a teenager the family relocated from Canada and eventually to United States. Paquin made her debut as a child with a role of the Jane Eyre title character in the Franco Zeffirelli novel Jane Eyre, and then an important role on the film Fly Away Home. Paquin played Frankie Addams, a character in Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997, she played the Spanish queen in a lesser part. She played teenage girls in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) and played the polexia Aphrodisa character as part of Almost Famous (2000).
